For a Rogue, the Saboteur's Signet is more than another Unique ring. Its Core Skill effect can launch Stun Grenades, giving fast attacks a useful control element while the ring also improves grenade size and damage. That matters in crowded endgame fights, where a short stun can create just enough room to reset your position. If you are sorting through D4 items for a stronger Rogue setup, this ring deserves a place near the top of your wish list. The quickest route is usually a mix of focused boss runs and Cube crafting, rather than relying on one source alone.
Start With The Beast In The Ice
The Beast in the Ice is the main target because the Saboteur's Signet sits in that boss's specific reward pool. You will need Lair Keys to open the Hoard after the fight, so the real work begins before you enter the arena. War Plans make that preparation less painful. Set a short playlist around activities that supply keys, then move through it without wasting time on unrelated objectives. Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, and Kurast Undercity runs can all fit into a sensible routine. Keep the plan practical. A route you can repeat comfortably is usually better than one that looks impressive on paper but leaves you travelling all over Sanctuary.
Turn Distilled Fear Into Extra Rolls
Boss attempts are not the only value you get from The Beast in the Ice. Distilled Fear can be saved for the Horadric Cube, where the Amalgamation recipe uses five units to create a random Unique from that boss's reward pool. That gives you another opportunity to see the ring without spending an additional Lair Key on a fresh encounter. Many players forget this step and let their trophies sit in storage. Do not. After a farming session, check your materials and use the recipe whenever you have enough Distilled Fear.
Keep A Wider Ring Strategy Ready
The Cube's Unique upgrade recipe offers a broader, less focused route. Start with an Ancestral ring, remove its affixes through the relevant crafting process, and reduce it to Common quality before applying the upgrade. The result can be any Unique ring, so the odds are less focused than a Beast run. Still, it is useful when your materials are piling up. Obols add another small source of attempts through the Purveyor of Curiosities. White rings can also become useful crafting inputs. Here is a quick comparison: Beast runs - focused pool, Lair Keys required; Amalgamation - focused pool, five Distilled Fear; ring upgrades - wide pool, Common ring required.
Build A Routine You Can Sustain
Start each session by checking your Lair Keys and Distilled Fear. Run The Beast in the Ice while your keys last, then use Amalgamation immediately when five trophies are ready. Spend spare Obols on rings, and use the Cube upgrade when you have enough suitable bases. This approach keeps every activity connected, so an unlucky drop does not make the whole evening feel wasted. Once the Saboteur's Signet appears, test its grenade effect against dense packs before changing the rest of your gear, and consider buy cheap D4 items only when a missing slot is holding back the build.
